While there are a variety of Not Your Average Joe’s locations, we visited their Arlington location. This location is the easiest to get to without a car - sure, we had to take a train and bus to get there, but it was worth it. Not Your Average Joe’s recently added a brunch menu and invited us to try their it. The restaurant is family-friendly, with enough space and light to enjoy your meal. Their menu is not as extensive as most places, however, how can one go wrong with french toast or eggs benedict? Plus the Bloody Mary Madness (aka build your own Bloody Mary) tops the list. If french toast or eggs benedict are not your favorite brunch items, a regular lunch menu is also provided to order anything you want. We decided to order a brunch item and a few things off of the regular menu. We tried the brioche french toast, not your average nachos, chicken tortilla soup, and butternut squash flatbread. The brioche french toast, which is topped with cinnamon butter offers sweet flavors and melts in your mouth. The nachos live up to their name. They reminded us of tostada shells cut in half with cheese and chicken tinga. No complaints from us as the nachos are delicious! Chicken tortilla soup is perfect for the cold day, warming us up with delicious, savory flavors. The butternut squash flatbread on the first few bites was not what we expected. We enjoyed the pizza once we had the pieces with the caramelized onions that gave the pizza flavor. The prices for Not Your Average Joe’s are average, with most items ranging between $10 and $15.
