Joe's American Bar & Grill - Newbury

We were pumped to be invited to brunch at @joesamerican. The ambiance at the restaurant is more than an "elite bruncher" could ask for. The restaurant is spacious and opens up to the bustling shopping district of Boston. This may seem corny, but the music, staff and overall atmosphere make the perfect compliment to some good eats. Where do we start? The cocktails are perfect for easing the stress of a long week at work and a great way to start your dinning experience. We highly recommend the basil and garlic infused Bloody Mary. The bartending staff marinate this mixture with Tito's for a week, and boy does it taste delicious!! The bellinis, flavorful sangria, and mimosas made with fresh squeezed orange juice are amazing as well. After deciding on cocktails, the next step is deciding what to eat. With some great options, we recommend trying the corned beef hash. The corned beef is perfectly cooked, prepared with amazing spices that add to flavor. When we say this entree is an A+, we aren't kidding. It is some of the best we have had. We also recommend the pancakes served with fresh blueberries. They are fluffy, full of flavor, and the slight hint of lemon makes it a great option for spring brunch. If you are a lover of biscuits and gravy, they have a dish that will send your taste buds in to overload. Served with a poached egg and light home fries toasted with fresh herbs, this dish reminds us of something Paula Dean would come here to try. The restaurant has a wide range of comfort food cooked to perfection. Pairing some staple brunch options with seafood is always a fun way to enjoy Boston cuisine. The fried calamari and mussels dish are great side options. Flavored with salt, toasted on the skillet with olive oil, the mussels are truly a favorite of ours. Finally, if you have a sweet tooth like us, the creme brûlée or the chocolate chip cookie served in a skillet with ice cream is epic. The new menu, accommodating staff, and A+ cocktails makes brunching here truly an affair to remember. Who knows- you may even see Giselle and Tom walking by as you eat. #brunchesofboston #brunchroyalty #DTB
