On a cold, wintery morning, home.stead bakery and café in Dorchester is the place you want to be. We found ourselves enjoying the warm café on a Saturday morning. The café’s seating is shared seating, as most people who come are freelancers / working from home. This gives café goers a perfect opportunity to meet someone new while having breakfast and a cup of coffee/tea/apple cider. Besides working from the café, tons of people come to cozy up with books and a nice cup of hot coffee. We decided to start brunch off with hot apple cider, perfect for this wintery morning. For our meal we ordered the belgian waffle, which come with a side of seasonal fruit (strawberries), maple syrup and whip cream. The strawberries and maple syrup are served in their own cups, with the whipped cream on the side as well. This makes it perfect for the diner to create the waffle as they like! The waffle itself is delicious, as it is warm and melts in your mouth. The strawberries are delectably tart, the syrup is deliciously sweet, and the whipped cream is perfectly whipped - making these the perfect topping for any waffle. The prices are very reasonable averaging at $7.
