Frenchie is a wine bistro that recently opened in the South End. The atmosphere is very bright, chic and modern with a beautiful garden view in the back of the restaurant. We are all about the wine vibes and Frenchie definitely impressed us with their selection. The menu is of medium sized offering a lot of French-inspired items such as Nutella crepe, Croque Monsieur (or Madame) and freshly baked croissants. To start, we split the Nutella crepe topped with caramelized bananas. This is simple but so damn good; We mean anything with Nutella is an automatic two thumbs up. The crepe is on the smaller size so you'll need to order something in addition to this. We also tried the Duck Confit Hash and Eggs Benedict. The Duck Confit Hash comes with a poached egg and hollandaise. We absolutely love the combination of flavors in this hash. One downfall is that this dish is too small; you may leave hungry if you order just this. The Eggs Benedict is lovely – perfectly poached eggs on top of croissants with fresh, homemade smoked salmon. The service is a little meh. Our server forgot one of our entrees but made it up by sending a basket of freshly baked croissants. By the way, the croissants at Frenchie are unbelievable; we ate the entire basket #noshame. We could totally spend the entire day sitting at the bar drinking rosé and eating warm, buttery croissants. The menu items are reasonably priced with everything ranging between $9-12.
